So this is the firts update we've offered in a while. Ophil hasn't
played a show since July of 2005. But there is a bit of a reunion
on the horizon. A one of show at Kirby's Beer Store in Wichita,
KS on May 13th. If you want to see us play this is one of the few
chances you'll get. The old line-up is coming back for this one...
Shane, Rob, Justin and the rest of us. The show is a benefit for
Kirk Rundstrom from Split Lip Rayfield. He's suffering from throat

Ophil is officially back up and running. We are playing this weekend
in Stillwater and we have new shows up on the calendar. Check it
out!

I am once again assigned with the task of breaking some more news
to Ophil faithful. Shane Marler and Justin Stockebrand are making
their last stand with OPHIL. We have known about this for some time
and Shane and Justin have been helping us work in their replacements.
For that I have to give them tremendous thanks.
This moment is both sad and exciting because I
will miss Shane and Justin. But I am very excited about continuing
OPhil with their replacements, Brett Haralson and Brody Wellman.
This weekend will be Justin's last shows, while
Shane will continue for one more show at Kirby’s in March.
Thanks for your continued support and thanks to
Shane and Justin for their contributions to the band over the years!

Please welcome Brian Ashcraft to the ranks of the OPHIL crew. Brian
is a good friend of ours and is a very talented drummer. We are
very pleased to have him join us. We have new shows posted for 2005

It's time once again for me to announce the departure of a band
mate. Rob Miller has played his last show with OPHIL. Rob has been
with us for 7 years and will be missed. And so the Ophil saga continues..
we do have commitments to play next year and the rest of the band
plans on fulfilling those obligations! Check back for more info

The wait is finally OVER!!!!! Our first full-length studio album
in 7 years will be out Tuesday August 24th! Make sure to pick up
a copy of Love Songs for Soccer Moms as soon as you can!

The CD is almost done... looks to be out in mid August of 04! That's
right... this is no Chinese Democracy... it's really happening!

Well we have slowly begun the process of spawning our eventual
replacements. Around a year ago Rob and Kandi had Zoe... who is
now banging on tables and even the drum kit in my basement.. now
Justin and Brandi have a bundle of joy themselves pictured to the
right... Jorin Stockebrand!

Well we have to put the brakes on for the next month! Shane broke
his finger in a freak accident.. the gruesome pictures are there
to the right... They had to cut his wedding ring off because of
the swelling.
We are sorry Johnny Reliable and Tulsa... this means we have to
cancel our show this Saturday as well as a Kirby's show on Thursday.
In better news on March 7th OPHIL had a bit of a reunion at Kirby's
thanks to my wife surprising me for my birthday... I should have
video and pictures up soon!

Sorry for the long delay in updating. 6 Tracks are mixed down for
the new album and it is coming slowly but surely. We have plenty

Happy Holidays from all of us in OPHIL. The great news is... we
have one more recoding session left on the new album... which means
we get to move on to mix down and mastering of the album early next
year... We will give you more details as we figure out our exact

Well MP3.com is officially dead... all good things do come to an
end... Since 1998 we've had approx 40,000 dowloads. We will try
to continue in the spirit of sharing our music on our own website....

We are off to Oklahoma and Arkansas for shows this weekend. A BIG
thanks to TEN PIN... who played a great set and put on a great show
last weekend at the Eagle Lodge, we had a great time with everyone
that stuck around. The 5 Day show was great, too bad some people
in the scene couldn't be more supportive... ah well.

it next weeked with some old friends! 5 Day Messiah is coming in
to Kansas to spend a weekend with us, first in Oklahoma at Mike's
College Bar and then in Wichita for an all ages show at the Eagles

Well, our late July and early August will be packed with shows you

details! The album is still in progress! Things are going great
in the studio and we've made some tenative plans with our old friends
from Ruskabank to put out a Split 7 inch... keep checking back for

Well Rob and Kandi had their kid.... and I am getting married in
two weeks... and if you think that means the end of the band...
you are wrong... check out out our shows page and you'll see that
we are hitting all ages and bar shows throughout the summer! All
ages shows in June and July in Wichita and Tulsa! We're still plugging
away in the studio... I'll try to post some pics soon... also we
are getting our past shows database worked on as well... so the
history section should be running this summer!

Some great news! This weekend we head to the studio to start recording
our next studio release. This is the first time in 5 years that
we've headed to the studio to cut a full length CD. Needless to
say we are very excited. We are taking April off to focus on family
and recording and then we are back with a few shows in May! If you
are waiting for the Jack Musik Collection, I apologize... I am trying
to pull that together quickly... please stay tunes and keep checking
back!

fans... we had quite the night in Stillwater and a show of great
support in Tulsa... we will be back to Stillwater next month and

Missouri! We had an awesome time playing for you! And to all the
kids that stuck around through all the cold weather at the Sonic
II show, we have to say that you are the best! We can't wait for

I have removed the history section for now and added our members
section. The history section will be added at another date... I

Well I took a couple of days off developing ophil.com and today
I got some more work done. No new conent today but we are working
hard on a show database for our history section. Come out to our
Stillwater Show on Friday and try to make the new picture of the

Happy Halloween! A few more changes up today including a few maps
to some of our shows as well as an addition to the discography section.
Still not officially finished with the site... and not sure when
the history section will be completed... Damn I'm getting old....

P.S. Jam Master Jay R.I.P. - Run DMC Jam Master Jay was killed last
night in his studio. He was apparently shot. I got up this morning
and happened to flip to Imus in the morning and noticed that he
and his compadres were making lite of this "another rapper" shot
scenerio... well I think that's absolute bullshit... and just wanted
to say so.
